Happy Birthday, Mark!

Mark turned 33 on the 26th!! We had his family over for dinner and cake to celebrate, and he got lots of pretty nice presents! Combined with some buddies taking him out for lunch, and celebrating with his kids and family, Mark said he had a pretty great birthday! He also got to keep on celebrating on Friday with my family for dinner!
Here are some pictures of the big day!

Jack building Daddy's cake...I cheated and bought it, and spread extra icing on it for Jack to decorate. It also said 'Daddy' on it at one point, but Jack didn't feel we needed to see that.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail....

Easter was great this year, Jack is really getting into things and starting to understand. He was very into dying Easter Eggs (which does actually wash out of white sleeves with Spray and Wash), and knew when he went to bed that night that the Easter Bunny would be coming. When he got up in the morning, the Easter Bunny had left a trail of jelly beans all the way from his bedroom to his basket downstairs. Jack stopped dead in his tracks and very clearly said: "Oh my goodness. Look at this mess." Not the reaction the Bunny was looking for...but original. Once he found his basket complete with too much candy and hockey sticks, he was over the mess.

Very intently dying eggs...

Waking to a BIG trail! From his room....

All the way to the baskets in front of the fireplace!

Some Sharpe Squad Milestones!!

After our last not so up-beat post, I thought I'd post some of the fun things we've been witnessing here. We are VERY thrilled to announce that we went for William's test results on Tuesday, and he's gotten a clean bill of health. Mark and I were VERY concerned, but the doctor was able to reassure us on pretty much everything. Yay for Will!

On to the milestones/firsts....

Here is Jack having his first taste of snow. He ate for about an hour.

Jack has decided that diapers are a thing of the past! One day he woke up and said "I want unnaware (underwear)", and that was it. He has had almost no accidents (2), and is very happy to sit and read magazines about car parts and classic cars. Ugh. It's like raising another Mark!

Will is a sitter now! He appears to be reaching his milestones a fair bit slower than Jack did, but he's still doing great.

Will hates tummy time, and because of how poor his back and neck muscles were as an infant he never really spent a ton of time on his tummy. He also refuses to roll over. While most babies his age are rolling across the room, over and over again, William has rolled maybe about 4 times total. Two of these times have been since he came home from the hospital. When I put him on his tummy now though, he tries to crawl.

Trying to reach his soother...

Man, this is hard work!! Usually this when he cries, and I try to encourage him to keep trying!

It's also when Mark says "My poor little man! Let me pick you up!" Also when I roll my eyes.

Will's Hospital Visit!

A week ago Will woke up late at night throwing up. He continued to throw up for most of the night, and then started again in the morning. I decided to take him up to Emergency just to have him checked out, and they almost instantly admitted us. Our pediatrician told us that they would hydrate him through IV for 24 hours, then we could go home. Unfortunatley, Will didn't respond to the fluid they gave him, and continued to get more and more dehydrated, and was still pretty sick. He was in isolation, meaning we needed gowns to hold him, and we couldn't take him out of the room. By Saturday night, he had spiked a temperature, and still wasn't taking anything by mouth. He usually eats about 32 ounces a day, and was eating about 5 ounces a day in there. We were pretty worried. The virus he had when we went in is called Rotavirus, and we're still awaiting the results of some of the tests to see what his secondary infection was, but we're VERY happy to be home, and Will seems to be on the mend. Our 24 hour stay turned into 6 nights. He lost a bit of weight, but we're confident he'll put it back on in no time!

With daddy in the ER...

Every time I brought out the camera, Will started grinning despite feeling so crummy.

Hanging out with Daddy....

Nanny was there every day for MANY hours at a time. She was awesome.

While mommy went home to have a shower, daddy spent a few hours with Will. This was on my camera when I got back!

Momma came almost every day too! Her and Boppa kept Jack all weekend which was a HUGE treat for him!

Auntie Lori came every day too during her lunch break! Uncle Mike brought mommy a small ocean of Tim Horton's coffee, and Aunt Sharon came to visit as well.

The Newest Foreman for Carson Reid Homes???

Construction starts rather early in this neighborhood. Much earlier than I would like to be up. So, imagine my enthusiasm at 7:30 this morning as I was standing in the garage watching the dumptruck and digger. Yay for me! Jack was thrilled every time the digger operator waved to him, and every time the dump truck driver waved. After standing and freezing for about an hour, Digger Man John (really his name) came and asked if Jack could go for a ride in the dump tuck. So, off he went to the little dirt pile around the corner from our house. He looked so cute in the truck...all you could see was his little orange hard hat. After doing about 4 dumps with Bobby (not sure if thats his name, or just one Jack gave him) he got to ride in the digger again. What a lucky boy. Mark and I find this really awesome that they would let him in their equipment, we're pretty sure some of the rules got bent just so Jack could have fun. Thanks boys!!

Bubbers vs. Beans

The beans lost. He opted to not have them anywhere near his mouth.
