The Happiest Day of Jack's Life

Across the street from our house is an empty lot. In that lot they are starting to build a new house. We got home the other day and there was a huge "digger" sitting there. Jack was thrilled and even more thrilled when they started digging yesterday morning. We stood in the driveway watching for awhile, and the nice "digger man" came and talked to Jack. This morning Jack was in our room really early ready to go back outside and watch the digger again. He put on his hard hat, and away we went. Today the "digger man" came over and told Jack he liked his hat, and he should help him out. Jack got to go and ride in the excavator for about 20 minutes while they loaded a dump truck. Jack may never be happier.
If you click on the last few pictures, you can see how happy he was inside. The man said he never quit smiling the whole time.

Family Day!!!

This year Mark had the brilliant idea to go away for what was Ontario's first Family Day Long Weekend. Given that Jack loves to swim, but actually CAN'T swim, we wanted to find somewhere for him to be able to splash and play without relying on Mark and I to carry him through the water. We booked one night at the Nottawasaga Inn, and ended up leaving a day earlier than planned and staying for two nites instead! There was TONS of stuff for Jack to do, complete with a splash pad for him, mini-golf (I know he's only 2, but MAN is he bad at that sport), a teddy bear building workshop, and an arcade. It was the best weekend, everyone had a great time, and we look forward to doing it again next year with the boys!

Jack and Will outside our hotel room...

Jack riding the motorcycle in the arcade...you didn't even have to put money in, he was happy to just ride!

Daddy and Bubbers....

Jack in the pool....

Jack was hiding eating chips. I caught him. He was sitting in the middle of the floor with his back to me. Good hiding, buddy.

Jack and Will in bed...apparently it was too early to smile.

Will's first time in a high chair...I fed him some of my pancakes too.

Mini-golfing with daddy....

Stuffing a bear with mommy...

His name is Franklin.

We managed to convince Jack to close his eyes for 1 minute. 1 minute that turned into almost 2 hours!

Bubbers first swim....he splashed for quite some time in his chair!

When he was done swimming, he sat in his Bumbo by the hot tub with us.

Jack under the raining umbrella. He LOVED the raining umbrella. ALOT.

Some Winter Fun!

What a busy, fun winter so far for The Sharpe Squad! Jack has been in HEAVEN with all the snow, he may be a shoveller when he grows up! Here are a few pics of what we've been doing...

In Aberfoyle where my parents live, we get together with a group from the area every winter for a really fun day of curling on the Aberfoyle Dam. I grew up playing hockey and ice skating on the dam, and when all the "children" were all grown up, the parents started curling. It's a ton of fun, however this year there wasn't any ice to curl on thanks to the few rainy days we had a few days prior. Never to dissapoint, the Backstreet Gang had an alternitive in mind.....Plunger Curling! Same rules as curling, only with plungers in the snow!

Mark taking a toss.....you get 2 points if you get it in the "toilet".

You throw that plunger with such grace, baby!

My mom actually won with her partner...she's really good at this!

Jack and Ethan...they got along very well!!

Jack's buddy Pete. Pete hung the moon as far as Jack is concerned.

Jack enjoying the ton of snow we've had...

Daddy taking Jack for a ride on a snowmobile that he borrowed for the night. Jack LOVED it, apparently it's in his blood.

Will and Boppa...looks like he loves him just as much as Jack does!
